The Westford Page Three girl, well the best I can do for the
moment!!
Here is an under board shot of the point motors. These
are Fulgarex slow action
point motors (or switch machines). The one on the left is
connected to the exit point
from the branch. The one on the right is connected via the angle
crank apperatus
to the Branch starter signal. Both have yet to be wired up
electrically.
The two white wires are the track feeds to the branch.
A general view of the section. not much change from last
time
Un-seen is the fact that the track that the loco is standing on
has been wired up electrically. The loco has been used
to test the track, being the first vehicle to run under power
on this section of the layout!
The new Junction Bracket signal
controlling the access to the branch.
A view along the branch. The new branch starter signal is a model
of an
early wooden post variety and will be the only example of a
wooden post
signal on the layout! Still more to do to the scenery and the
small cut-out
for the signal will need repairing.
The section of track that is out of alighnment at the bottom of
the picture
is in fact the small bridging section, complete with ballast,
that drops
in to cover the acute angled joint where the track crosses from
the main
board to the fiddle yard board.
